Urbanista Limited consists of Brian Waddell and Paula Richa.

BRIAN is an urban planner from Auckland and the managing director of Urbanista Limited, a planning consultancy specialising in strategic planning, urban policy and research and land use and transport integration.
Over the past 18 years Brian has been involved in the development of the Regional Growth Strategy for Auckland 1999, two Regional Land Transport Strategies for Auckland (1999 and 2005) and many other strategic and policy projects including the development of Integrated Transport Assessment guidelines, urban housing capacity assessments, guidelines on land use density supportive of the passenger transport system, the classification of high density urban centres and corridors and an Auckland urban density study.
Brian is currently providing land use and transport integration advice to Auckland Council, Auckland Transport and the New Zealand Transport Agency.
Much of the work Brian has been heavily involved with in the past 15 years has been related to the Regional and District Plan Changes requires under the Local Government (Auckland) Amendment Act 2004, Strategic and policy advice related to the development of the Auckland Plan and the Auckland Unitary Plan and strategic and statutory planning expertise related to the Auckland Special Housing Areas under the Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas Act 2013.
Brian also lectures part time at the University of Auckland and is a qualified hearings commissioner.

PAULA is originally from Chile and the director of finances as well as being the office manager.

Paula studied Textile Design at Universidad de Valparaiso in Chile and came to NZ last century to study English to better enable her to join the global economy.

That led her to working as a design assistant and production manager for a NZ fashion label.

Paula and Brian have two young boys, Alexander and Milan, that keep them very busy and give them much pleasure.
